■9th Marathon Entry Open!
December 31, 2010
Dear Runners,
At the end of the year we reflect on the hot summer. The 9th Obuse mini Marathon in 2011 will begin accepting entries on January 7. Please add the Obuse mini Marathon to your year's schedule. We will be waiting for your entries.
For the sake of continuing the marathon and improving hospitality, we are making a few changes starting this year. We apologize for any inconvenience.
1. Entry fee: 5,000 Yen
(6,000 after 2nd cutoff, 3,500 for high school students)
2. Change in entry methods
(Entries only accepted through the internet site RUNNET)
http://runnet.jp/runtes/raceDetail/
top/m25836.html
(RUNNET is Japanese-only, so if you are unable to apply through it, please contact the executive committee)
3. Change in number card registration
(Only 7/16 (Sat.), the day before the race)
These changes are for the sake of continuing the small town volunteer-run Obuse mini Marathon. Please join us in improving hospitality and praying for the health and safety of the runners.
Best regards,
Executive Chair Sarah Marie Cummings
as well as Staff, Volunteers and residents of Obuse
2010.6.18
There is one month remaining until the 8th Obuse mini Marathon.
The Executive Committee is working its hardest every day to make this year's race the liveliest Obuse has seen.
Today the children at Obuse's Kurigaoka Elementary School made art flags as decorations for the marathon. Everyone playfully and energetically painted eight flags. The children and their teachers painted with brilliant colors and made full use of their creativity.

Could the next Picasso be among them? Look forward to seeing their paintings in Obuse.

Obuse is now in the rainy season. Even though it is hot and rainy out, good luck in your training.
We predict that it will be hot on the day of the race. Be sure to drink plenty of water and protect yourself from the heat.
We'll be waiting to see you in Obuse.
Best regards,
Executive Chair Sarah Marie Cummings
As well as Staff, Volunteers and the supportive residents of Obuse
