6,671 people (99.6%) finished in the 7th Obuse mini Marathon.
For the first time runners received the 3-5-7 Award for running 7 years in a row.
The first marathon had only 1/10th of this year's participants, but still 155 people have participated each and every year. Thank you very much.
There were some minor changes to the course this year, and a new course record of 1 hour, 8 minutes, 31 seconds was set.
There were also over 100 groups who had fun wearing costumes for the enjoyment of others and 80 colorful portable toilets decorated the Kurigaoka Elementary School grounds.
The people living along the course all got together to provide aid facilities, food and drinks like apple juice, tea, Obuse wine, cucumbers, peaches, pickled plums, pickles, curry rice, lavender bouquets, Air-Salonpas spray, nectarines, grapefruit, daikon radishes, edamame, ice candy, rice crackers and so on.
This year's marathon ended without any major incidents. Thank you very much for your participation and cooperation.

The 6th Obuse mini Marathon reached 6000 entrants, becoming a huge wave.
In a change from years past, Obuse was blessed with clear skies on the 19th and 20th this year, and a pleasant breeze made for great marathon weather. It wasn't just the number of runners that increased. Volunteers and local junior high students actively participated as well. There were also close to 100 entries for the costume award, and a new course record was set at 1 hour, 10 minutes, 19 seconds.
Thanks to the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group's cooperation, 4 water stations were stocked with W Amino Value, energizing the runners. Also the number of performance locations along the course increased to 17 this year, energizing the spirits of the runners.
Because of the cooperation of all the runners, volunteers and sponsors this year, the marathon finished with no major accidents. Thank you very much.

7/15/2007 (Sunday), the 5th Obuse mini Marathon approached along with a typhoon.
Like with the rain last year, worries continued right up until the event. Suddenly on the day of the race, there was a comfortable breeze and the sun sometimes shone
through the clouds, making it perfect weather for a marathon. 99.9% of the participating runners completed the race, normal for Obuse. Close to 40 teams entered for
the group award, and over 150 people were competing for their 5th time in a row.
Furthermore... a new course record was set at 1 hour, 10 minutes, 32 seconds, besting last year's top time of 1 hour, 11 minutes.
The smiling faces of the runners as well as the volunteers along the way bring Obuse to life. It was very regrettable that close to 1000 people were unable
to participate due to the typhoon, but maybe the feelings of all the people gathered in Obuse kept that typhoon away.
This year, people came to help out and cheer on the runners from not only Obuse, but from the neighboring towns, the elementary school, and the junior high.
The number of costumed runners and runners from outside Nagano Prefecture also increased. This is a marathon it would be a shame to run quickly.
