A race not of speed nor competition
But intended instead to take in the sights of Obuse
A run for the sheer fun of it, the Mini Marathon
A way for visitors to connect with our town
Enso = Performance (or, literally, 'Green Run')
Obuse welcomes 1.2 million visitors each year,
Equal to 100 times the local population
Not to the well-worn roads, the official highways
But to the embankments, the trails and back roads of our town,
Off the beaten path
See Obuse in its everyday garb
Soak up the scenery on a 21K journey of discovery.

■Thank you everyone!
July 21, 2010
Dear Runners, Volunteers, Sponsors, and Supporters,
Thanks to Everyone’s help and cooperation, the 8th annual
Obuse mini Marathon was another great success!
Although it was very hot, the sponsors, volunteers, supporters and fans cheering encouraged the runners throughout the race.
7,219 Runners started the race and an amazing
7,180 Finishers crossed the finish line.
That makes for a 99.5% completion percentage!
TRULY AMAZING!
This year, we increased the number of water stations, included running doctor’s teams, added a cycling team to support the medical team, added showers and sprinklers, and added ice to the water stations to cool the runner’s along the course. In addition, we invited a hot air balloon to help serve as a beacon along the riverside to guide and inspire our runners to the finish.
We are so pleased and grateful that the entire town was supportive of this race.
Our entry will begin at New Year’s, so please apply at that time. Due to the limited capacity of the course, we will not be able to accept runner’s once we close the entry.
ALSO, we would like to remind you that the Obuse mini Marathon will be on SBC-TV August 22, 2010 (Sunday) 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. We are looking forward to seeing this and hope that you will, too! For out of town runner’s that would like a copy of this, please contact SBC-TV directly.
We will continue to update this homepage with results and photos and other information. If you have any comments or suggestions for next year, we want to keep improving this race to support the runners and help out the local community.
THANK YOU all very much. Words of thanks are not enough to express our gratitude.
We hope that we will have your continued support in the future.
Best regards,
Sarah Marie Cummings
